The guiding philosophy I use in dealing with my clients is ‘transparency’. A lawyer should be involved with their clients’ cases and should know the facts of the case really well. Further, and perhaps more importantly, a lawyer should communicate with their client regarding all matters of the case. A client should not be wondering “what’s going on in my case?”. Finally, clients should know how their retainer is being spent and for what purpose it’s being spent.
The guiding philosophy I use in dealing with opposing counsel is ‘zealous advocacy’. I do not believe in selling my clients or their positions short. My clients hire me to put them in a better legal position. In every case I strive to make my clients better off than they would have been had they not retained me.
