The National Advocates is an invitation-only national professional organization composed of AMERICA’S PREMIER LAWYERS™. Membership is extended solely to a select few of the most qualified attorneys from each state or region who exemplify superior qualifications of leadership, reputation, influence, stature and profile as lawyers practicing in designated areas of law. All members are reconsidered for membership each year but not automatically re-invited annually.
Eligibility for Top 100:
Membership in The National Advocates: Top 100 is limited to top advocacy lawyers from each state or region who serve individuals and families in the legal system in the specialty areas of Matrimonial and Family Law; Bankruptcy Law; Social Security Disability Law; Immigration Law; Workers’ Compensation and Employment Law; and Wills, Trusts, Estates and Probate Law. Prospective members are carefully screened before being invited to join and each must exemplify superior qualifications as a lawyer.
Each of our distinguished Top 100 members strives to encompass the knowledge, skill, experience and success held by only the best attorneys in America. It is our mission to promote unique and professional networking, marketing and legal education opportunities for our lawyers. The criteria for membership include:
Minimum 35 years of age and 10 plus years of experience as a lawyer
Reputation among peers, the judiciary and the public
Achievements as specialty lawyers
Nominations from leading lawyers, current members and Executive Committee members
Leadership and membership in other national and state specialty lawyer organizations
Rankings and ratings by leading national evaluation organizations and associations
Nominees and other Invitees must be lawyers actively practicing law in one of the following areas of specialty: Matrimonial and Family Law; Bankruptcy Law; Social Security Disability Law; Immigration Law; Workers’ Compensation and Employment Law; and Wills, Trusts, Estates and Probate Law. Memberships are reviewed annually to ensure that the membership of The National Advocates: Top 100 is made up of only premier attorneys from each state or region.
Eligibility for Top 40:
The National Advocates: Top 40 under 40 is composed of top advocacy attorneys from each state who are age 40 and under. Membership into The National Advocates: Top 40 under 40 is extended exclusively to those attorneys practicing Matrimonial and Family Law; Bankruptcy Law; Social Security Disability Law; Immigration Law; Workers’ Compensation and Employment Law; and Wills, Trusts, Estates and Probate Law. Invitees must exemplify superior qualifications as a young attorney. Selection is based on a thorough multi-phase process which can include peer nominations combined with third-party research.
At least 3 years of experience as a lawyer
